The match was hosted at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on April 22, 2024. Choosing to bat after winning the coin toss, Mumbai Indians set the stage.

**First Inning:**
Rohit Sharma was dismissed by Boult in the initial over. Sandeep Sharma secured the wickets of Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav early on. Mumbai found themselves three down by the fourth over. Mohammad Nabi contributed with some hits but got caught out off a spectacular spell by Chahal. Nehal Wadhera and Tilak Varma established a 99 runs partnership, where Varma played a pivotal role. Wadhera provided strong support, making 49 runs off 24 deliveries including 3 fours and 4 sixes. Varma got 65 runs off 45 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes . Notably, Sandeep Sharma took a 5 wickets haul, including three in his final over, concluding with figures of 4-0-18-5. This slowed down Mumbai’s progress. Avesh Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal also claimed a wicket each, with Chahal becoming the first to reach 200 IPL wickets. Mumbai  Indians managed a total of 179-9.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, alongside impact player Jos Buttler, opened for Rajasthan Royals. They began solidly, with Buttler making 35 runs off 25 balls with 6 fours . Jaiswal, playing a cautious yet assertive game, reached a century with 104 runs in 60 balls with 9 fours and 7 sixes . Sanju Samson supported well with 38 runs in 28 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes  . This batting prowess helped Rajasthan chase the target easily before the 19th over ended.

Sandeep Sharma was named the Player of the Match for his five-wicket haul and brilliant spelling . Rajasthan Royals excelled in batting, bowling, and fielding, leading to a well-rounded victory against Mumbai Indians . Chahal marked a milestone with his 200th IPL wicket. Rajasthan now tops the points table.

Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, struggled. Despite attempts by Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera to anchor the innings, the team couldn’t amass a challenging total. Fielding errors, including dropped catches, added to their woes, landing them in the 7th position on the table.
