57TH IPL MATCH BETWEEN SUNRISERS HYDERABAD AND LUCKNOW  SUPER GIANTS-

57th IPL Match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants took place at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on 8th May, 2024. Lucknow Super Giants choose to bat first after winning the toss.

FIRST INNING:
Lucknow Super Giants Skipper KL Rahul and Quinton De Kock came to open the inning for the team. They Couldn’t provide a good start because Bhuvneshwar Kumar broke the opening partnership of LSG by taking wicket of De Kock and beautiful catch was taken by local boy Nitish Reddy. KL Rahul played too slow and just scored 29 runs. Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers bowled very tightly and made uneasy for LSG batters to get runs. After to dismissals of LSG’s Four wickets, Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni made a good pair and were able to increase the run rate. Pooran and Badoni not just saved their wickets but also smashed 99 runs in a tough situation. Ayush badoni smashed 55 runs in 30 balls with 9 fours. Nicholas Pooran also gave a good support and scored the 48 runs in 26 balls with 6 fours and 1 six. With the smashing from Badoni and Pooran, LSH managed to score 165-4. Bhuvneswar kumar’s Bowling figure was best bowling Figure in this match, was 4-0-12-2. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 2 wickets while Pat Cummins grabbed 1 wicket and made one run out.

SECOND INNING:
Sunrisers Hyderabad Impact players Abhishek Sharma and Travis head not just provided a great start, but also finished the game in just 10 overs without losing their wickets. What kind of explosive batting spectators eye witnessed in Uppal, Hyderabad? It was totally paisa wasool for SRH fans. Abhishek and Head became the first opening pair batsmen to chase down the target without breaking their Partnership in this Season. Abhishek Sharma scored 75 runs in 28 balls with 8 fours and 6 sixes. Ravi Bishnoi created the chance of a catch but LSG were unable to take that advantage. LSG Bowlers were totally clueless to stop this run carnage. Head smashed 89 runs in 30 balls with 8 fours and 8 sixes.

Travis Head were celebrated as the player of the match for his power hitting knock. Hitting the ball all over the boundary and finished the job in just 10 overs where opposition found trouble to cross 170 runs. Bhuvi’s Contribution in this game can’t be unnoticed. His Spelling was brilliant and he didn’t even concede a single boundary in this game. Shahbaz also was economic. Because of power smashing inning from Head and Abhishek, SRH gained huge run rate and climbed to the 3rd position of the point table.

Lucknow Super Giants failed in all three departments. In batting, Badoni and Pooran’s partnership was much needed to the team, but that wasn’t enough. In bowling, they were missing Mayank Yadav. They should had brought back Matt Henry to the squad in this condition. Now LSG holds the 6th position of the point table. Mumbai Indians became the first team to be eliminated of this IPL season.
