Stoinis and LSG’s Masterclass Bowling Effortlessly outclassed Mumbai Indians .

48th IPL Match between Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians was played on Ekna Stadium, Lucknow on 30th April, 2024. Lucknow Super Giants won a toss and decided to bowl first.

FIRST INNING-

Mohsin Khan gave an brilliant start to LSG through taking a wicket of Rohit Sharma. Surya Kumar Yadav got out by Stoinis with solid review by LSG Captain KL Rahul. Tilak Verma was run-out by a brilliant fielding of Ravi Bishnoi. Lucknow Super Giants had full control of game, After falling of four wickets, Ishan Kishan and Nehal Wadhera provided much-need partnership and tried to put the team on a good positions. Ishan Kishan smashed 32 runs off 36 balls with three fours.  Ishan Kishan didn’t last long on field with bat and got out by Ravi Bishnoi. Tim David showed his strong mind set against LSG Bowlers.  Nehal Wadhera scored 46 runs on 41 balls with four fours and two sixes. Tim David smashed 35 runs off 18 balls with three fours and one six. With the help of late show from Tim David, N Wadhera, and Ishan Kishan, Mumbai Indians reached 144-7. Mohsin Khan took 2 wickets. Stoinis, Naveen-ul-Haq, Mayank Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi got one wicket each.

SECOND INNING-

What a delivery from N Thushara !!! Impact player Arshin Kulkarni had no idea how to play that delivery and got out by LBW. LSG Captain KL Rahul had positive approach against Mumbai Indians. In the mean time, Mi Captain Hardik Pandya took the wicket of KL Rahul.  Marcus Stoinis kept attacking with full strength and also made half-century in this slow pitch.  Stoinis single handily took the game away from Mumbai Indians, just like he had done against CSK in Chennai . Stoinis is out of contract from Australia cricket, but not from entertainment for spectators.  Stoinis smashed 62 runs on 45 balls with seven fours and two sixes. After the dismissal of Stoinis, run rate became slow for Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians got their rhythm on time. Nicholas Pooran was on crease and made sure a well-deserved win against Mumbai Indians in the last over . Hardhik pandya took 2 wickets. Thushara, Coatzee, and M Nabi got one wicket each.

Marcus Stoinis got the player of the match for his outstanding batting and bowling. Lucknow Super Giants had good control in their Bowling. In batting, Stoinis handled the Mumbai Indians Bowlers alone. With This win, LSG reached to no-3 position of the point table.

Mumbai Indians had everything in wrong way. Their batters had hard times against LSG Bowlers.  In Bowling, they could be effective if they took Stoinis wicket early, Due to low score, it was very hard to defend for Mumbai Indians.  Now it is very difficult for Mi to qualify the play offs. Mumbai Indians hold 9th position of the point table.
