2nd BBL 2023-24 match between Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Renegades happened at Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney . Melbourne Renegades Won the toss and decided to bowl .
In the First Inning, Philippe and Steven Smith came to open . Phillipe gave a proper start but he couldn’t convert to big score. At the Other end, Steven Smith played a very smart inning and he scored 61 runs in 42 balls with 7 fours and a six .Henriques also gave a good support to Smith. Zampa and Sutherland slowed down Sydney Sixers and took two wickets each. After falling of wickets at the end of the overs , Sydney Sixers reached to score 175-6(20).
In the 2nd Half, Melbourne Renegades openers couldn’t help themselves . Jake Fraser-McGurk was fabulous at batting and he tried to control the condition. Fraser-McGurk scored 48 runs in 24 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes . Finch also tried to do something but his inning was slow one in T20 format . Sutherland wasn’t ready to give up and His knock was much needed . Sutherland Scored 51 runs in 30 balls with one four and 4 sixes . Ben Dwarshuis got the wicket of well settled batsman Jake Fraser-McGurk and he took 3 wickets . Jackson Bird, S Abbot and Steve OKeefe took one wicket each .
When Melbourne renegades was needed 28 runs in 12 balls, Abbott and Dwarshuis controlled the ball brilliantly and restricted Melbourne Renegades to 167-7. Sutherland put a very courageous impact in both of the innings. He definitely has a great future .
