Hardik Pandya (47 off 18) and Riyan Parag ‘s blistering cameos at the death ensured that Rajasthan finished with a flourish, as they pierced through their repertoire of shots in this boundary-fasten route to smacking an astonishing total of 25 fours and more than generous sixes. On this big total, India crushed down with ease and Bangladesh fell short by 133 runs as the senior-most Mahmudullah Riyad played his final T20 International. INDIA-
Abhishek Sharma played too soon to a pull off Tanzim Hasan and holed out at mid-wicket. Suryakumar did not waste time in getting off the mark with a six. After an early grab of Tanzim for 19 during the Power Play, India had motored to 82 for one.
He reached his century in the next ball, when he smashed a four back over Mahedi’s head. He fell a couple of balls later, getting an outside edge to deep-square leg after registering two more boundaries. The next over, he caught Surya Kumar at deep mid-wicket off Mahmudullah to depart the field and there was more death knell wafting for Bangladesh.
It got even worse for Tanzim as Pandya clobbered him 21-runs in the over and Parag nonchalantly played Mahedi at another end. In the final act of a forgettable innings, Bangladesh made a meal out of two straightforward run-out opportunities — one quite comically when Parag and Hardik were caught stranded mid-pitch but wicketkeeper Litton Das lobbed it over Umesh Yadav’s head. The next over, Parag was caught on the boundary but the fielder had his feet touching the ropes to add four more runs. Parag hoicked at a scoop off Taskin the bowler this time only for it to go straight into Litton’s gloves. However, Tanzim had picked up Hardik and Nitish Reddy off back-to-back balls while birthday boy Rinku Singh hoicked a last ball six.
BANGLADESH-
Bangladesh, in reply, never got going. The first ball delivered by Mayank Yadavand, and he bounced Parvez Hossain Emon (0) out off a glove to first slip where it found Riyan Parg [] The pair of Najmul Hossain Shanto and Tanzid Hasan went hard at India in the next two overs, accumulating 30 runs. But Tanzid was taken at short third-man by Sundar The homeboy, Nitish also took punishments Litton found his feet very quickly as he collected five boundaries in an over. The other wicket was Ravi Bishnoi’s, thanks in equal measure to SportMode analysts and the batsman one of their program stars – Shanto — who reverse-swept too early (and easily caught at slip), leaving behind a classic legspinner’s maiden.
