Forty-ninth IPL matches between Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings took place at MA Chidambaram Stadium, in Chennai, on 1st May, 2024. Punjab Kings choose to bowl first after they won the toss.

Chennai Super kings captains, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ajinkya Rahane came to open and played  slowly , but tried building a strong partnerships worth 64 runs. Harpreet Brar took wickets of Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube in his second over. Ajinkya scored 29 rungs in 24 balls having 5 fours, Ravinder Jadeja gets out by beautiful delivery of Rahul Chahar, Despite of the fallings wickets, CSK Skipper Ruturaj stood alone and kept attacking Punjab kings Bowlers.  Constancy of Ruturaj Gaikwad is Unquestionable. Sameer Rizvi tried supporting captains, but didn’t last longer. Harbreet Brar and Rahul Chahar reads pitch well and took good advantages. Both had good control on their spelling and they had best figures in this match are, Harpreet Brar Figure Was 4-0-17-2 and Rahul Chahar’s Figure Was 4-0-16-2 . Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 62 runs in 48 balls, wih 5 fours and two sixes. Moeen Ali and Dhoni pulled some crazy shorts in ends overs, Chennai Super kings managed to scores 162-7. SECOND INNING –
Debutant Richard Gleeson got Prabhsimran in his second’s over. Punjab Kings Opener Bairstow and Rossouw formed a strong partnership, didn’t give chances to the Chennai Super kings Bowlers. With low score, It’s very hard for Chennai Super Kings defending. Jonny Bairstow smashed 46 runs in 30 balls with 7 fours and 0ne six. Rilee rossouw scored 43 runs in 23 balls with 5 fours and two sixes. Shivam Dube came to bowl for one over and took wicket of Jonny Bairstow and broke their partnership. Shivam Dube has been selected for T20 world cup India squad. Shashank Singh and Punjab kings Skipper Sam Curran finished game in 18th over. Shardul Thakur, Richard Gleeson and Shivam Dube took one wicket each.

Harpreet Brar was named  player of match Award  for his excellence bowling! Harpreet Brar and Rahul Chahar was key players to stop runs carnage of Chennai Super kings. Beating Chennai Super kings in Chennai isn’t cake walk! Both spinners understood pitch and bowled accordingly, Rabada was also economical good. Bairstow and Rossouw played aggressively  and didn’t made mistakes to loss game. Now Punjab kings is at 7th position of points tables.

Chennai Super Kings Batting was too slow! and had no clue on countering Punjab kings Spinners Harpreet and R Chahar. Only the CSK Skipper Ruturaj fought alone and provided much as could. CSK Spinners Jadeja and Moeen Ali were at loss to get solutions for taking wickets, Richard Gleesson did good, but due to low score it became very hard for  Chennai Super kings to defend it.
