KKR’s Brilliant Bowling Catapulted Them as the First Team to Qualify for the Playoffs.

60TH IPL MATCH BETWEEN KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS AND MUMBAI INDIANS:

60th IPL match between Kolkata knight riders and Mumbai Indians was played at Eden gardens, Kolkata on 11th may, 2024. Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Kolkata Knight Riders (Playing XI):

The Game were starting late due to rain! 16 overs match was decided to play, Only one Player can bowl 4 overs and others can 3 overs.

FIRST INNING-
Kolkata night Riders opening pair, they couldn’t give a good starting. Sunil narine  bowled by Bumrah’s first ball and N Thushara got Salt in his first over. Venkatesh iyer came to rescue again and played an formidable inning. Nitish rana came to bat after a long gap due to injury. Venkatesh Iyer scored 42 runs in 21 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. Nitish rana, Russell and Rinku singh played tiny bit with crazy shots!. Kolkata had managed scored 157-7. Bumrah and Chawla each took 2 wickets, N Thushara and Anshul kamboj each got one wicket.

 

 

SECOND INNING-
Ishan Kishan began hitting the boundaries very quietly, the way Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan leaded the game in the beginning of second Phase, It seemed like Mumbai Indians was sure to win the game!! But Sunil Narine had other plans and broke the Opening partnership of Mumbai Indians by taking the wickets of Ishan kishan! Ishan kishan smashed 40 runs in 22 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. Rohit Sharma had a tough time and again couldn’t get runs! Russel took out two most Dangerous batsmen of Mumbai Indians, Surya Kumar Yadav and Tim David in the middle overs and slowed Mumbai Indian’s Inning. Tilak Verma didn’t loose hope and kept haunting for runs, other batter’s of Mumbai Indians were unable to contribute for the team, Tilak Verma scored 32 runs in 17 balls with 5 fours and one six! Spin Due of KKR Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine had bowled very well and leaked less run’s which pressurized the opposition, where it turned point for KKR. Mumbai Indians unfortunately failed to chase the target against KKR, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy and Russell took two wickets each.

Varun Chakravarthy was declared the player  of the match for his economical spelling! Russell, Varun and Sunil brough the game back with beautiful bowling, Venkatesh Iyer also played a marvelous inning just when KKR lost 2 wickets early. With this win, Kolkata Knight Riders Became first team to qualify for Play offs.

Mumbai Indians was already Eliminated from this IPL Season. Once Again, MI failed to reach the target against KKR. Ishan Kishan and tilak tried, but other batters couldn’t assist in overcoming against KKR’s bowling attack. It’s been Bad Season for Mumbai Indians in this IPL Season. Now Bumrah is being the purple cap holder of this IPL Season.
