The 32nd showdown between the Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 17, 2024.  Delhi Capitals won the toss and decided to bowl first .

**FIRST INNING-**
MUKESH KUMARGujarat Titans experienced a disappointing start, with Rashid Khan being the sole player able to counter Delhi Capitals’ bowlers effectively. Ishant Sharma dismissed Shubman Gill in his first over and claimed David Miller in his next. Sai Sudharsan’s run-out was a misfortune for them. Even Tristan Stubbs took to bowling for an over, securing two wickets during that time. Rashid Khan managed to score 31 runs off 24 balls, hitting 2 fours and 1 six. Mukesh Kumar was successful in taking Rashid’s wicket and captured a total of 3 wickets. Khaleel and Axar both took one wicket each, limiting Gujarat Titans to a mere 89 runs.

 

 

**SECOND INNING-**

JAKE FRASER-McGURKThe innings for Delhi Capitals was initiated by Jake Fraser-McGurk and Prithvi Shaw, with Jake aggressively targeting the Gujarat Titans’ bowlers. Delhi Capitals were eager to conclude the game quickly to improve their run rate. However, Spencer and Warrier put a stop to the openers’ progress. All of Delhi Capitals’ batsmen seemed in rush to end the match swiftly. Sandeep Warrier succeeded in taking two wickets, while Spencer and Rashid Khan each claimed one. Delhi Capitals reached their goal in the 9th over.

 

 

Rishabh Pant was awarded player of the match for his remarkable performance, consisting of 2 stumpings, 2 catches, and aggressive batting towards the end. Delhi Capitals excelled in bowling, barely giving the opponents any opportunities to score. Each bowler played their part equally in the victory. This triumph propelled Delhi Capitals to the 6th spot on the points table.

Gujarat Titans miscalculated their strategy, lacking effective plans against the opposing bowlers. Only Rashid Khan approached with a positive mindset. Given the low score, Gujarat had no chance for defense. The team criticized their poor shot selection but didn’t place any blame on the pitch condition. The Gujarat Titans are now in 7th place in the points standings.
