TOSS-

India won the coin toss and chose to bowl first.

PLAYING XI-

United Arab Emirates:

Muhammad Waseem(c), Alishan Sharafu, Muhammad Zohaib, Rahul Chopra(w), Asif Khan, Harshit Kaushik, Haider Ali, Dhruv Parashar, Muhammad Rohid Khan, Junaid Siddique, Simranjeet Singh

Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav(c), Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson(w), Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES-

Since India selected just Jasprit Bumrah as their primary fast bowler, Hardik Pandya started the bowling attack and allowed Alishan Sharafu to score a few boundaries. Sharafu appeared confident at the crease, managing another four off Bumrah’s bowling before launching Axar Patel over the covers for six runs. However, Bumrah struck back decisively with a perfect yorker that shattered Sharafu’s stumps. Muhammad Zohaib attempted a reckless swing against Varun Chakaravarthy but failed to connect properly, resulting in an easy catch that deepened UAE’s struggles. Captain Muhammad Waseem provided some resistance by hitting three boundaries in one Bumrah over as the powerplay concluded.

KULDEEP YADAVA total of 41/2 with their top batsman remaining wasn’t looking too terrible for UAE, considering they entered this match as clear underdogs. But what came next turned into a nightmare as their batting lineup simply collapsed without any resistance. Kuldeep sparked the downfall with a devastating three-wicket over. Waseem attempted to attack the spinner but became one of his casualties, and losing his wicket proved costly for UAE. Asif Khan, who had performed impressively against Pakistan in last week’s tri-series, edged one to the keeper, handing Dube his maiden wicket as UAE suddenly slumped to 52/6. Their score increased by just five more runs as Dube and Kuldeep dominated the proceedings, dismantling the remaining batsmen to dismiss UAE for what became the second-lowest score in Asia Cup history.

INDIA-

ABHISHEK SHARMAAs anticipated, this rapidly became one of the most one-sided encounters in the tournament’s history, with India barely working up a sweat during their chase. Abhishek Sharma launched the pursuit in spectacular fashion by launching the opening delivery over long off for a maximum, then adding a boundary. Though Haider Ali managed four consecutive dot balls afterward, Abhishek’s new opening companion Shubman Gill collected a four and six in the next over. With India already accumulating 25 runs from the opening two overs, it became clear this chase wouldn’t extend beyond the powerplay. In fact, it didn’t even reach the sixth over as Abhishek specialized in sixes to bring India nearer to victory. Despite falling while trying to finish the match within four overs, Suryakumar Yadav entered and smashed his opening delivery for six before Gill ended UAE’s suffering.

Brief scores:

United Arab Emirates 57 in 13.1 overs (Alishan Sharafu 22; Kuldeep Yadav 4/7, Shivam Dube 3/4) lost to India 60/1 in 4.3 overs (Abhishek Sharma 30, Shubman Gill 20\*) by 9 wickets.
